Adding A Button to Your Sidebar

Easy Blog Tips!

You can add a button to your blog by following a few easy steps:

1. Find the button you want to add. Copy the HTML code in the box beneath the button.

2. Click on your blog's layout tab.

3. Click on 'add a gadget' in your sidebar.

4. Scroll down until you see 'HTML/JavaScript' and click on the + (add) sign.

5. Paste the button's code into the big box. Add a title if you wish.

6. Hit save.

7. You will see it at the top of your sidebar in the layout section. It will say 'HTML/JavaScript' if you didn't title it.

8. You can click and drag it to where ever you want to put it in your layout.

9. Preview your blog and then hit save!

Troubleshooting: Refresh your browser if you cannot see the button after you have followed all of the above steps. If after refreshing you still cannot see it, make sure that you copied and pasted the entire code into the HTML/JavaScript box. It's really easy to leave off the characters at the beginning and end.

Happy Blogging!

Great Tip! What I am trying to figure out is where you store the image so other people can use it - basically how the code works. I am looking at the HTML and it looks like your image is in an album in photo bucket and the code links to that. I don't use photo bucket. How else can I create my own button?
Your button is nice!

Thanks for Tipping! How do you create the open box with the code in it after you have created your own button? I am working on a button of my own, but don't know where to look for all those tips. Thanks! antibloggedy@gmail.com if you are able to help =)

I think this is a fantastic tip, but what I *really* want to know is how to create my own button?

I can attach the button to my page, but once it is on my blog, I can't click on it and it take me to the "home" of the button. Any advise. laceychrest@yahoo.com
