How To Move Gadgets- Beginner

I've touched on this tip before in How To Create an Announcement. I decided it deserved it's own post on this blog, as I want to make sure that everyone sees it. It's such an easy thing to do! I wish someone would have shared this trick with me when I first started blogging. Took me forever to figure it out, but once I did, it made customizing my blog so much easier!

How To Move A Gadget
1. Log in and go to your blog's homepage.

2. Go to your Page Elements page. You can get here by clicking on design in the upper right hand corner of your blog or by clicking on design below the title of your blog on your dashboard.

3. Create a new gadget or find the gadget that you want to move. Click on it and hold it while dragging it to where ever you want it to go. Release.

You can move gadgets from column to column. You can create a gadget in a sidebar, then move it to another section. You can put new gadgets between existing ones. I can move gadgets to the sections with purple lines in the screenshot below. If you would like to place a gadget where there isn't a purple line, go ahead and give it a shot! Every blog is different. What won't work on mine might work on yours.

Click on the image to enlarge.

If you have made changes to the html of your template, you may not be able to move a gadget to all of these places. You'll just have to try and see what happens!

Please do not copy and paste my words and images into your own posts. I work hard on my tips and wish for everything to remain on this blog. Want to share this tip with your readers? Digi-Doodle Doo Giveaway!

***This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to all who entered! :)***

Several people have asked me where I get the images to decorate blogs with. A lot of people assume that I make them myself. I wish I was that talented! In truth, most of the images that I use are created by other people. I purchase images (usually in a digital scrapbooking kit) and then use Photoshop Elements to create headers and other features. One of the things that I love most about working with digital images is that I can use them on my blog as well as personal scrapbooking projects. Cards, invitations, scrapbook pages, gift tags….the possibilities are endless!

I am excited to share a new digital designer with you! Digi-Doodle Doo is a shop that is filled with doodle kits created by my blogging friend, Coley. I have used her images in the past while working on projects for both of her blogs. They are so easy to use, as well as ADORABLE! Truly the cutest digital doodles I have worked with! I had so much fun making the doodle scenes in this post. Click here to see more darling doodles!

Coley’s doodle kits are very reasonably priced. Most are $2 ($1.50 right now: everything in her store is 25% off through the end of January!). All of the doodle kits can be purchased in full color or color free. Color free sets allow you to use whatever colors you wish! Digi-Doodle Doo’s doodle kits may be used on personal projects (blogs included). They may not be used to produce income in any way, which includes use by blog designers to decorate the blogs of others.

Love these doodles as much as I do? Coley is giving away a $10 Digi-Doodle Doo gift certificate to one lucky reader of this blog!

To enter, all you have to do is visit Digi-Doodle Doo and tell me which doodle kit you like the best (good luck choosing just one!) My favorite is her new Winter kit (some images from this kit shown above). Love the snowflakes and girl on ice skates!
