Ugh......Commenting Problems

I've heard that some bloggers are having trouble commenting on my blog. If you would like to enter the blinkie giveaway and are unable to do so, please send me one email that contains all of your entries to blogsbysneakymomma at gmail dot com and I will add them for you. I don't want you to miss out!

Seems like this commenting problem is happening on a lot of different blogs. Hope Blogger figures it out soon! I don't even want to think about having to install another comment system. I loved Disqus for awhile, but it took WAY too long to load and I didn't like that my readers had to jump through so many hoops to leave a comment. Have you installed a non-Blogger commenting system on your blog? Do you like it?

This may help...I have been having trouble leaving comments on some blogs when using Firefox as my browser, but no trouble on Google Chrome...you might want to ask your readers to try switching browsers

I had some problems with comments on my blog when the comment form was embedded in the post. As soon as I changed it to a pop-up window I haven't had anyone tell me they were having problems. Another thing I read somewhere is that when the commentor signs into their Google account to make sure that the box is not selected to stay signed in, supposedly it works for some. Hope this helps someone, the whole thing can be so frustrating. :)

I have the same problem and blogger just keep on telling me to change browser/accept cookies and so on in my browser, but I don't have a problem. My readers have a problem commenting and I can't really tell them do buy new computers and changes browser can I? I'm getting seriously pissed that blogger doesn't fix this. They don't care at all about their users.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will be switching to the pop up window shortly! Makes sense about the browser and cookies , too.
I had this problem a few years ago and it corrected itself. I believe the only real solution is to install a different commenting system, but then you run the risk of people not wanting to jump through so many hoops to leave a comment. I didn't have any problems with people being able to leave a comment when DISQUS was on my blog, however many did not do so because it was too much of an inconvenience for them. What's a blogger to do!?!?

This is why I call it BLOGGGGGRRRRRRR! It's SO frustrating!

Even when I'm signed in, often I can't leave a comment on other people's blogs, and I've noticed the comments on my blog have dwindled down to nothing. I've started signing in as anonymous, then typing in my blog's link.

Hi Sharon! To make your comments appear in a pop up window, go to your blog's homepage or dashboard, then click on design-->settings-->comments. Click beside pop up window beside comment form placement. Don't forget to save at the bottom! :)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been hearing that some people can't comment on my blog so I am trying the pop-up window. We shall see if it works! Thanks for the tip. I enjoy your blog.

I hope the pop up form works! I'm having the same problem. Blogger- you need to work on your issues!!

Well It seems that they may have removed the pop up window feature.
There are no words that say "Comment for Placement" anywhere and I have the old blogger template.
I even tried to research it but all the stuff on pop up windows is old. nothing current. Did anyone else have any luck doing this.

Sharon, are you sure you're in the right comments section? Don't click on the comments section on your dashboard. You have to go to dashboard, then settings, then click on the comments tab under settings. Confusing, I know! Hope you're able to find it soon! :)

Jill, Thank you for trying to help me but I don't even have the words dashboard any longer. I have to go to my layout page then settings then comment but nothing is there. If you don't mind looking for me I will email you.

I am having the same problem. I thought it was just because we got a new computer and I cannot stay logged in for some reason. I will try this.

Margo, I'm sorry you're having trouble! I *think* my problem was solved by switching to the pop-up window for comments. I hope it helps you, too!
